Why we did it.....

What motivates a family to up root and move to another state.  This was the first decision we needed to make.  This decision was a culmination of several events.  First, I had spent nearly 11 years practicing emergency medicine and needed a change.  Second, we wanted a strong family conection and working nights, weekends and holidays did not seem to fit.  Third, no matter how we tried to fudge the numbers we were tied to a large mortgage with the Vermont house.  Fourth,  in order to move to a more carbon neutral family it was clear that we needed to downsize a lot of our life.
