This past month has been our best so far.
Electric Bill of $16.91
We purchased 154Kw
We shipped out 85Kw
In addition over the past 2 weeks our solar hot water has been meeting 100% of domestic hot water and also adding heat to our house.
Down side is that CMP charges us about $7 even if we use none of their power. I am hoping that Maine starts to promote solar by enacting a law to reward local clean generation of power. Any way I cannot argue with a $7 electric bill.

ReplyDeleteI think we are on similar wavelengths. I've been recently reading Wm. Coperthwaite's book and I also recently decided to simplify HOUSE, LIFE, STUFF, MONEY... I'm encouraged to know that you are working on it with a family, like myself and to a certain degree of modern adaptability. I too could live in the woods, but the family has a slightly higher set of needs.
