Loss of a Guinea Hen

We lost one of the hens. No idea, but one day there was nine. It is still remarkable that we have had them free ranging for the entire summer and have had no fatalities until now.

The house continues to run well even with the colder weather. The third rack of tubes have provided 100% of our heat on sunny cold days. Year end data should be coming soon. We have started planing for next years projects. Top of list is getting the vegetable gardens ready for planting. Second in line is a barn/shop. It started out as a garage, but the more we think about it the more we have concluded that a car does not need shelter. So the car sits outside. We currently are figuring out how small a building can be to house 10 Nigerian dwarf goats, small tractor and a wood shop.

One bit of advise on guinea hens.....They will eat your garden. Many books out there rave about how gently they are on a garden. They are not.
