Why the interest...we need to counter what just happened up the road from us. About 2 miles away the land has been stripped of trees, dirt removed, rocks blasted apart and wildlife displaced, all for a new McDonald's. It is really sad that during these economic times the one business that is building new buildings is McDonald's. Its not like we need another one. You can travel route 1 from Portland to Damariscotta and stop at a McDonald's every 15 miles. Maybe they need to put them so close because after about 15 minutes you are hungry again. What if McDonald's only served humanly treated meats and vegetables?? I would still not be happy. Maine has lost 30,000 jobs and the costs to build this one building would do much more if the same money was invested in almost anything else (nuclear and coal power plants, Humvees, 3000+ sq ft houses, bombs and little plastic crap excluded)
What are humanly treated animals and vegetables??? Ones that have lived the good life without the interference of chemicals, can stand out in the sun and rain, and don't have there genetic structure tweaked by some mad scientist. I don't mind mother nature doing the tweaking as she has about 100 billion years of experience.
So anyone got $400,000
